Reports on the Ice Sculpture Workshop
in Lainio Snow Village
Lainio Snow Village is a family business, which offers accommodation
and exceptional services to tourists. Lainio Snow Village
is located in Kittilä, northern Finland. In the Snow
Village there are large snowsculptures, snowwalls, snow hotel
rooms, restaurant and ice art galleries.
The winter art workshops in Lainio are carried out yearly
by The University of Lapland. The first year art education
students and exchange students create the winter in Laino
with Professor Timo Jokela and lecture Maria Huhmarniemi.
The main target of the project was to combine environmental
art, business and educations by creating interesting and
functional aesthethic wholeness to the Snow Village.
