Mirja Hiltunen, Lic.Art., M.Ed. is a lecturer in Art Education in the Faculty of Art and Design at the University of Lapland.

She has elaborated a performative art strategy as part of her work in art education, and the North and winter are the basis for many of the performances she has directed. Winter is also an important aspect of her doctoral research, which deals with community art education in the northern socio-cultural context..
