FT Saarinen Jarkko

Jarkko Saarinen, Ph.D., is professor of nature-based tourism at the Finnish Forest Research Institute and University of Lapland. He has done research on the attractiveness for travelers of winter nature in Lapland and the meaning of locality in tourism development. Winter, with its dark, crisp nights, offers him peace and quiet and a long night’s sleep.
