Timo Jokela is a professor of Art Education in the Department of Art Education in Faculty of Art and Design at the University of Lapland.

His specialization is the relation between art, the environment and the community. He has run many art projects connected with the northern environment. He also works as an artist and in recent years has focused on the development of winter art.
